Beautiful Boat Kits, Ready to Build!

             I am a teacher, boatbuilder, and boat kit maker specializing in rowboat and sailboat designs up to 20’. The kits are primarily available as CNC-precut, plywood kits and plans, but we also outfit home-builders with timber kits, epoxy, hardware, sails, masts & spars. My goal is to help people discover beautiful boats and new horizons for themselves as builders, boaters, craftsmen and humans. Boats change lives. To some they are holes in the water: to me, they are holes in the water in which we pour our souls and emerge changed in some way. Every boat in my portfolio is one I love very much and want very much for others to fall in love with one for themselves. Teaching is one outlet for my passion for boats. I am a full time boatbuilding instructor at The Landing School and, in summers, at The Wooden Boat School. I spend free time creating 3D computer models, boat plans, kits, and manuals, but I also build boats at my home shop in Portland, Maine. Whenever possible, I get out rowing and sailing on Casco Bay and around the coast of Maine.
