Kit Types
CNC = this is the CNC cut plywood kit that gets you all the precut into planking (including scarfs), bulkheads, molds, rudder parts, centerboard parts, decking, and all parts needed to build the hull. The CNC plywood kit including the plans package. The plans package includes all typical drawings as well as an instruction manual. The plans/manual includes key lists: timber cut list, hardware and fittings list, and an epoxy list.
PLAN = a plans only option that allows you to build the boat from scratch without the kit. Instead of precut parts or full size patterns, you would draw out full size the parts using the 11 x 17 dimensional drawings in the plans.
FSP = Full Size Patterns! These come on 36" wide paper and allow you to take advantage of the accuracy of CAD drawings but allow you to cut your own parts by hand. Often paper parts temporarily tacked right to the wood and you cut wight to the pattern. Sometimes, you need to transfer the paper patterns to pattern stock as in the case of planks. There is a lot of work involved, but if you have the patience and time, it is a fun way to go.
