Morbic 12 is the coolest 12' dinghy on the market. This little boat feels much bigger inside than most 12-footers. This comes from the generous beam and freeboard that extends forward and it is also the result of a clever layout inside. The helmsman sits aft of the rowing thwart (like Nicolas Vivier above) and the crew can sit either on the rowing thwart or on the floorboards forward, a wide open space with nice depth that provides for a safe, dry place for kiddos to park their bottoms. Morbic 12 comes lug or sloop, lug being the preferred for simplicity. She is very light and easy to trailer. With wide enough racks and two strong guys, cartopping is no problem (if you want a 12-footer that is more easily cartopped, consider the Echo Bay). I can tell you from experience that the Morbic is fast. In a fleet of 250 Sail-and-oar boats in France (during the bi-annual Gulfe Du Morbihan), I was able to hop around boat to boat (sailing the red boat above) and visit people!
